We generally recruit our Trainees by employing them as Paralegals first for a period between 6-12 months.
Throughout the period as a Paralegal regular appraisals and reviews are carried out. We do not guarantee anyone a training contract until we are sure they are suitable for the position within this firm. We can also offer qualifying work experience to paralegals who are completing the SQE.
We do not have standard application forms and candidates usually send in their CV with a covering letter. We look for commitment to social justice and an interest in Mental Health law, as all our trainees generally spend time in the Mental Health department. Our staff all need to have common sense, be able to demonstrate an ability to use initiative appropriately and be team players. The training programme is established with the firm’s needs along with our Trainees interests in mind.
Burke Niazi allows Trainees to have a high degree of responsibility from an early stage, this is why the Paralegal stage is so important in recruitment in this firm. Trainees are also supervised very closely and always by a Director in the firm.
We pride ourselves in maintaining our staff and we have a number of staff who have been retained following the completion of their training contract. We really are committed to training and retaining!
We offer unpaid work experience placements from time to time to suitable candidates who are studying law at University or who are completing the LPC or SQE. Please send CV and covering letter to harrietkaiser@burkeniazi.com
