Published 8th November 2013

Michelle Young, the estranged wife of property tycoon Scot Young – who was jailed for failing to reveal details of his wealth – has revealed the settlement she would accept to bring one of Britain's biggest divorce battles to an end.

In the latest phase of the High Court hearing, Ms Young has confirmed that she would accept “£300 million plus all my legal expenses” from her husband, saying that he was “worth a few billion at least”.

Ms Young has previously told the court that her husband had concealed “vast amounts of assets”, whilst Mr Young has yet to give evidence but has previously said that he was “penniless and bankrupt” and a victim of “financial meltdown”.

The court has heard that the former couple, who have two daughters together, began their relationship in 1989 and separated in 2006. Mr Young was handed a prison sentence in January of this year for failing to provide all of the requested financial information to his wife. He is now representing himself in court.

Mr Justice Moor is likely to make a make a decision about the true worth of Mr Young after hearing all of the evidence over the coming weeks. The hearing continues.
