The Head of the Mental Health Department at Burke Niazi, Sarah Burke, has been selected for a prestigious Women in Law 2014 Award by Lawyer Monthly Magazine, in recognition of her work in the mental health sector.
Lawyer Monthly’s Women in Law Awards celebrate and highlight the global achievements of women in the legal profession and follow the well-known, long established Legal Awards and Leading Lawyer 250.
One of the founding members of Burke Niazi, Sarah has long been a leading solicitor in the field of mental health and has a particular interest in assisting detained patients across the UK. A member of the Law Society Mental Health Accreditation Scheme since 1992, Sarah was appointed as a Peer Reviewer for the Legal Services Commission in 2007 and also acts as an Assessor for candidates applying to become members of the Law Society Mental Health Tribunal Panel.
The nominees for the Lawyer Monthly Award were selected as a result of their high level of documented activity in 2013, previous accolades within international legal guides, involvement in significant legal cases and activity and peer recognition and personal achievement.
Burke Niazi, one of the leading solicitors in North London, is delighted that Sarah has been recognised for her achievements in the mental health arena.
