The Prime Minister, Theresa May, has recently announced her plans to transform the Mental Health services available within schools, workplaces and communities.
The Prime Minister declared that her plans consist of being able to provide people with support at every stage in their lives rather than simply reforming the services available in hospitals.
Some of the plans include the introduction of first aid mental health training to all secondary schools across the country in order to ensure that pupils with mental illnesses receive the necessary support. The Prime Minister has appointed Lord Dennis Stevenson and Mind’s Paul Farmer to support mental health concerns in the workplace. Tools and training will be provided to employers to assist with their employees’ mental health.
