David Marcus

Director

David qualified as a solicitor in 1998. He joined the firm in 2001 and became a Director in 2004.

David is the head of the family department and specialises in care and financial relief proceedings. David has been a member of the Law Society Children Law Accreditation Scheme since 2002. David is also a member of the Law Society Advanced Family Law Accreditation Scheme.

Among his reported cases is LBH (A Local Authority v KJ & Ors) [2007], which considered the meaning of reasonable care to be provided by a parent re. threshold criteria in care proceedings, when the local authority has not provided the support that could be expected in respect of a severely disabled child.

In addition to this legal practice, David has for many years acted as a legal consultant to a number of charities and non-governmental organisations working to eradicate the commercial sexual exploitation of children including appearing at the UN Committee of the Rights of the Child in Geneva.

David is a trustee of the Victoria Climbie Foundation.
