Richard Okolo

Director

Richard joined the firm in March 2009. He is a Director and the Joint Head of the Mental Health Law Department. Richard is a Solicitor specialising in Mental Health Law, Mental Capacity Law and Housing Law. He has a keen interest in landlord and tenant legal matters including possession Court proceedings and civil litigation. Richard often represents both landlords and tenants in residential and commercial property disputes. Richard also works on Community Care cases. Richard dedicates his time and efforts to representing clients fully and to a premier standard with a main focus of going above and beyond client instructions.

Richard regularly represents clients at Mental Health Tribunals and Hospital Managers hearings across the country. Richard has been involved in a huge variety of complex cases involving many areas of law. Richard is a member of the Law Society Mental Health Accreditation Scheme (the Law Society’s panel of specialist Mental Health lawyers). Richard was selected as a rising star in mental health law recognised by Thomson Reuters. Richard regularly provides training sessions on Mental Health Law to senior and junior clinicians and various members of the medical profession. He thoroughly enjoys all aspects of his work and is frequently praised by his clients.

In his spare time Richard enjoys spending time with his family, as well as carrying out home improvement projects.
