Sarah Burke
Director
Sarah is one of the founding members and a Director of Burke Niazi. The firm was established in 1997. Sarah is the Head of the Mental Health Department. Sarah is a leading solicitor in the field of mental health and is passionate about helping detained patients across the country. She has been a member of the Law Society Mental Health Accreditation Scheme since 1992. Sarah undertakes her own mental health case load where she endeavours to represent all her clients personally.
Sarah was appointed as a Peer Reviewer for the Legal Services Commission in 2007 and has continued in this capacity.
Sarah was recently appointed as an Assessor for candidates applying to become members of the Law Society Mental Health Tribunal Panel.
Sarah regularly delivers training and seminars to Solicitors, Advocacy projects and Hospital Managers.
Sarah enjoys running and has run the London marathon for MIND and at least six other half marathons in the last two years alone. Sarah is also an enthusiastic tennis player.
Sarah has been selected for a Lawyer Monthly Women in Law 2014 award in recognition of her work in the Mental Health Sector. She is currently the Treasurer of the Mental Health Lawyers Association.
