The whole truth and nothing but the truth

A new ruling was made by the Supreme Court in relation to wealth and divorce settlements on the 14th of this month. If a spouse is misled to the amount of wealth possessed by the other in divorce proceedings they are now able to re-negotiate their settlement. The ruling now affirms that dishonesty or fraud by either party in failing to disclose the true extent of their financial assets are grounds for re-negotiating previous ancillary relief agreements.

Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Act 2013, Civil Partnership Act 2004 and divorce – are all marriages made equal?

Has the Marriage (Same Sex Couples) Act 2013 levelled the playing field for LGBT+ couples to marry? The introduction of the Act was a milestone for LGBT+ rights and it should be there to protect the parties, not just when they marry but when they separate as well. However it does not seem that LGBT+ couples have the same equality when it comes to grounds of divorce compared to mainstream marriage.
